The Challenge (hypothetical): Employees are not arriving to work appropriately dressed, so to save time and money in lost productivity, Mega Hotel Chain would like to implement a training module specifically addressing Dress Code. To prevent cognitive overload, the learner will be able to select the dress code policy specific to their department. The design of the training stays on-brand throughout.

The Situation: I prepared this eLearning module in preparation for a job interview. This is meant to be a demonstration of my aptitude for new processes and software.

Development Time: Seven hours, including time spent learning how to use the software

The Challenge (hypothetical): Members of the ES department are at increased risk of job-related injuries if they are not properly made aware of the dangers of the position.

The Solution: In order to prevent potentially unsafe workplace practices, incognizant mistakes, and long-term adverse health effects, the hazards and risks of their positions will be included as part of an eLearning module during the onboarding process. To avoid cognitive overload, the training will be broken down into smaller modules with easy-to-understand directions on course functionality. Fictional members of housekeeping staff will be used to personalize and create a connection for the learner.

The Result: Properly training staff will lead to a significant reduction in the number of injuries and accidents in the Environmental Services Department.
